Guest guest
Coconut oil is a powerful antioxidant. If too much is taken it can cause masses to form of all the junk it has kicked up. It is a highly recommended good fat per the Weston Price Foundation. I am not sure that you can say he does not have gut stuff. The picky eating is often part of that. If it were me I would get him to a GI. I am not trying to sound like a know it all or even a busy body. We had nonobvious gut stuff in my nonspeech kid that was serious. I only took her to the GI in tandem with my speech kid. It may have saved her life. I am simply making a suggestion mom to mom. > > My son's pediatrician said some of the mother's of other children she > sees have had speech improvements with the addition of coconut oil in > their diet. Guest guest
We've been to a Gastroenterologist. This is why I say my son does not have gut issues. He has never been constipated or had diarrhea (except when given too much fish oil or coconut oil). He has had allergy tests and blood tests. He is not bloated. I collected bms for fat testing. His results never show any news other than he is slightly carnitine deficient. His eating problems are sensory. Also hypotonia affects his tongue and that in turn affects his eating. I was hoping the coconut oil would help his speech production. We haven't used up the coconut oil so I'll see it through just one dose a day. (Also I want to make a Pina Colada before it's all gone!) > > > > My son's pediatrician said some of the mother's of other children > she > > sees have had speech improvements with the addition of coconut oil > in > > their diet.
