Hi everyone. My name is Chelsey, I am 22, and I live in Texas. I

joined your group today because I just found out that my dad has

pancreatitis. He has been in this hospital all week with nothing to

eat or drink since Sunday, not even clear liquids. My family and I

are very scared right now and of course, a little confued. The

surgeon, that has been seeing him since he got to the hospital, is

very " wishy-washy " . He never sticks by anything he says, and it

always changes. He's always saying, " well I think... " , or " I'm not

positive, but... " , " well, my opinion is

that... " , " sometimes " , " usually " , etc., etc., etc. It is very

frustrating. He didn't tell us anything about this disease just

that it was of a disease of the pancreas, hence the name

pancreatitis. :) So anyway, we left the hospital feeling

discouraged, scared, confused, angry, a whole range of emotions.

And we didn't know what to expect next so we looked it up on the old

faithful internet. So now I know a little, but I am still very

confused and I want to know what we can expect in the next few days,

weeks, years, forever.

I am hoping that this group can help fill in some of the very large

blanks for my family and me. My mom has Bechets and their online

group is just awesome. Sometimes I don't know what we would have

done without them. I am hoping that I can get the same bond and

support here.

Thanks so much for being there and God bless you and be with you

always...

Chelsey
