Guest guest
Hello, Our son, Kardyn, is nearly three. He has SMS and is non verbal along with a whole host of other issues. He had his tonsiles and adnoids out on August 2nd. He could and say two words, mama and dada and he was even starting to use the V sound. Since his surgery we can't get him to say these two words. We know that he is no longer in pain. He eats by mouth and is also g tube fed. He makes all other noises and sounds that he wants but won't say these two little words. Our Speech therapist has said that she has never seen this before. Other doctors and nurses say that they believe that this is behavior related. I find the behavior thing a little hard to believe since he is developmentally maybe 10 months old. I would think that he would be doing other things like shying away from anyone even looking like a nurse or doc. I would also think that he would be more aggressive but he is not. This is the only thing that we have noticed since his surgery. Can anyone please tell me if you have heard of a child doing this? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all and many blessings, a and Kardyn
