Guest guest
They do appear low. How did you get this test done. Was it through the Great Plains lab. I was thinking of doing the urine organic acid test through them. Do you need a doc order them? <mrmansfan@...> wrote: I just rec'd my daughter's gluten/casein peptide test results. Guest guest
The values do look low...but - was your daughter actively eating glutine and casein (i.e. not doing the GFCF diet) at the time the test samples were taken? - which lab did the tests? - remember the accuracy of these tests is only 50% (as stated by the test creator Dr. Shaw who runs Great Plains Lab) - Removing the foods for at least 3 weeks then reintroducing is the most accurate way of identifying an intollerance to them...it is called " food elimination test " in allergist circles. My elder son who really DOES have very obvious casein intollerance problems - and they were clearly evident in his physical and behavioral symptoms, his peptyde test came back in the " normal " range BUT he improved only by supplementing with enzymes to cut the effects and then finally removing it all together...not so much stool issues as his pupils were not dialating and constricting normally due to the caseomorphine, he was insensitive to cold and pain, hypersensitive to light and being touched (including clothes), was always " wired " . He's improved greatly but still has major issues with digesting milk and grain proteins if he ingests them. The tests do require a doctor's order, but if you want to do the tests without going through your regular doctor or DAN!, go to the website www.directlabs.com -- via this website you can order lab tests for lots of things and select via which lab you want them done. There are doctors at this company who write the doctor's orders for them and send them to you with the sample collection kits. There are some issues for some of the tests not being " legal " for NY residents, but I think that is specified on the website...like fecal testing. ____________________________________________________________ GET FREE 5GB EMAIL - Check out spam free email with many cool features! Guest guest
My daughter was GFCF for 2.5 weeks before this test. It was run by Great Plains Laboratory and ordered by my DAN! doc.
