Guest guest
Hi All - If we already have a dyspraxia diagnosis is there any reason to see Dr Agin? My 28 month old son was diagnosed by a SLP at 18 months old with global dyspraxia (agreed upon by a neurologist). He attends ST 2-4 times a week, OT 2 times a week and gets an education visit once a week. We have started fish oils and vitamin E. We have also seen several DAN doctors and doing vitamin b shots and even tried the GFCF diet for 6 months. I would like to see another doctor now that he is a little older for the reason listed below. However, Dr Agin charges quite a bit and we would also have to make the trip to NY (an additional expense). Just wondering from those that have seen her what they think? Is it worth it. I can find the funds for it...but if it won't provide much more than what I already know then I would rather apply the funds toward future therapy sessions. Some reasons I want another evaluation: - check for other issues. I'm very concerned about his receptive language and think it probably is not related to the dyspraxia. He has way too much trouble with questions. While his receptive grows, it grows much, much slower than his expressive. - confirm the diagnosis (although 2 other SLP he has seen agrees and from what I have read it is quite obvious) he was quite young when he had an evaluation from a doctor - get more input on the vitamin supplementation. Especially, vitamin E. We have seen two doctors here about it (pediatrician and DAN doctor) and neither doctor felt confortable commenting on it. Thanks!!!! -
