Guest guest
It sounds like the doorbell thing, diaper changes, clothing changes, etc.....might be sensory. My son has a lot of sensory issues, and everything.....EVERYTHING.....scared him. He would run screaming if there was a sudden noise, or if the wind was blowing. OT has helped with this. Sensory issues (in my opion), make my son seem a bit " different " from the rest of his peers. My son also has an AMAZING memory as well and is a visual learner. @...: lizlaw@...: Mon, 11 Feb 2008 18:07:51 +0000Subject: [ ] Re: 26 month old boy, very articulate but can't smile on command. Guest guest
, Your son sounds exactly like mine regarding sensory issues. Loud noises are still an issue(he's 8 now). We went out and bought 4 pairs of ear protection so we always have at least one pair in the car, at home, school ect. His favorite pair are bright yellow so he does tend to stick out in a crowd but they at least let us go to events for more than 5 minutes at a time! He really uses them as a safety mechanism now which is great. If he starts to feel nervous somewhere like a grocery store, arena ect he asks for his " phones " He surprises me sometimes at how good his memory is. And it wasn't until recently that we realized how visual he was, way more than any kid i've ever known. sandy [childrensapraxiane t] Re: 26 month old boy, very articulate but can't smile on command.
