Guest guest
We have been researching DAN! doctors and he appears to be the closest MD to us at 2.5 hours away(we are in South Florida). I had a GREAT conversation with the intake nurse the other day on the GFCF diet and I'm about to schedule an appt with the doctor. I was hoping someone has been to him or knows something about him before I do schedule. BTW, my DS will be 4 in March and has severe verbal and oral apraxia and mild hypotonia. He has 100+ approximations (that he has just acquired in the past 9-12 months) but only in one word utterances. He is not on the spectrum but his apraxia is so severe that we are very interested in some biomedical intervention (we just started CF two weeks ago). Thanks! Guest guest
We have been doing DAN since November 2006 and recently switched to Dr. Bradstreet about 4 months ago. So far I really really like him. He is to the point, doesn't waist your money and time and understands that parents are spending their own money to come see him. He listens and is addressing my concerns about my son. My previous DAN only tried to push her own agenda (Chelation) and never saw past that. I like him and his staff has been nice. Guest guest
My best friend takes her kids there. Great practice. Absolutely wonderful people. Her kids see both Dr. B and Dr. Rosignal. (sp?). Because Dr. Bradstreet is out of town so often, you may want to see Dr. Rosignal instead. Both doctors are wonderful. Both have kids affected by autism. Dr. Rosignal is just a bit more available for families. My pediatrician (we're just outside of Orlando) even sends kids over to see them. I am thinking of taking Grace over in the coming year and have Dr. Rosignal evaluate her. Whichever doctor you choose, you can feel confident about taking them there. They have folks fly in from all over the country, and even from other countries, just to see them. Hope that helps Kris The Knitting Wannabe http://knittingwannabe.typepad.com Sonny & Shear: The I’ve Got Ewe, Babe Yarn Shop http://www.sonnyandshear.com On Jan 25, 2008, at 1:57 PM, Tia wrote: > We have been researching DAN! doctors and he appears to be the closest > MD to us at 2.5 hours away(we are in South Florida). Guest guest
Were in California and we see him. The first time we saw him in person in Arizona at the CARD office and the second time, we just did a phone consult to get lab results and go over a protocol. So far so good. He is well known in the Autism community. He is always a key not speaker at the DAN conferences and has done extensive research. Guest guest
I would say that, to me, Dr. Bradstreet seems to use a lot of pharma drugs versus naturals. He also seems very aggressive in his treatment. When you ask him questions, he really describes the science and research behind everything. This was just my experience. I am not saying this is good or bad since that depends on the child and the parents and what works for them. Good luck. Michele > > My best friend takes her kids there. Great practice.
