Guest guest
I'm sure it is not acid reflux. Had many problems with that and esophagitis<sp?> years ago. This is a different burning sensation not related to my digestive tract. -Dana -- Re: Has anyone experienced this? you could be having acid reflux which is very common with hypo--- digestive problems is a side effect---get on armour you may not have this any more!!!!!! under treated thyroid will still cause all these problems---same with fibromyalgia---all that leg pain will go away with armour!!! seeing is believing!!!!!!!!! tina > I hate having Hashimotos because it is so confusing to know if the sever > Fibromyalgia is just a side effect from it. Guest guest
hi dana, i have Hashi's also. I've not experienced what you described. i agree with Tina...if the pain is also in your arm, best to rule out heart problem. i did have chest pains every day but none of the other pains with it. when i got thyroid meds, chest pains went away. sorry you're going through this. hope you feel better. hugs, sheila " Sales@bargain_hunters_dream " <BHD@...> wrote: I hate having Hashimotos because it is so confusing to know if the sever Fibromyalgia is just a side effect from it. Guest guest
Hi Dana, I too have hashis and I have been having problems with similar chest pain complaints, in fact it was one of the reasons I first went to my doc for investigation before I was diagnosed with thyroid probs. I was very concerned as there is a very strong family history of heart disease on both sides of my family. However, following an ECG (electrocardiogram) they said my heart appeared normal, which was a relief but the pain continued. They then said it could be acid refulx but it never seemed to occur after eating. I returned to my docs and they then said that it was costachondral pain and told me to take anti inflammetory pain killers such as Ibuprofen, and suggested it was linked to a form of anxiety attack. When I am having a 'bad thyroid day' as I have come to call them, I do notice that the pain is wosre. I also get anxiety attacks when I need my dose of Levothyroxine increasing and also when my chest pain seems at it's worst. I have been told by my doctor that if it continues I will get a cardiac echo scan done in light of my family history. So far my new dose of thyroxine has kicked in and the pain seems to have subsided. Guest guest
Popular painkillers containing ibuprofen should be taken off supermarket shelves, Australian Medical Association president Bill Glasson said today. The US Food and Drug Administration has launched a consumer advertising campaign advising medication containing ibuprofen can cause kidney damage and stomach bleeding when taken with prescription drugs including diuretics. Dr Glasson said the AMA had raised concerns with the federal government more than a year ago about the availability of drugs containing ibuprofen which include painkillers Nurofen, Herron Blue, Advil and Panafen IB. " We think it's a backward step to move drugs from pharmacy shelves and put them onto supermarket shelves when a lot of those drugs do have side-effect profiles that really require the expert advise of a pharmacist, " Dr Glasson told the Nine Network " We're concerned particularly about this drug (ibuprofen) that can have significant gastro-intestinal side effects as well as renal side effects, particularly when taken with other drugs such as diuretics. " We need to look at the process by which we list these drugs and make sure we try to protect the public and not try to protect necessarily the profits of drug companies. " Dr Glasson said older patients who take more medications were likely to to suffer side effects. " Even for a middle-aged healthy person, if you take these drugs in excess quantities you should be aware of the possible side effects. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/01/29/1075088119991.html Re: Has anyone experienced this? It's not just ibuprofen. All of the NSAID family, including Tylenol, tear up the kidneys when combined with alcohol. Contrary to advice we were given in the 1980's and earlier, such damage is permanent and cumulative. Chuck B.
Guest guest
My son is 3.5 and was diagnosed with verbal and oral motor aptaxia when he was two. I have noticed behavior that concerns me, if anyone has experienced this with their own child or has any ideas please share... My son on two occasions now has said a word that he is very familiar with, peanut butter (and on another occasion , picnic,) and prounounced it " pato " (picnic was poo)He looked very disturbed when he was saying the word, like he knew he was saying it wrong but could do nothing to change the pronuciation. He repeated the words over and over until he became hysterical...very sad. His SLP had me call the dev. ped and she said if it happens again we will need an EEG to check for abcense seizures. Has anyone experienced this? Also my mother and sister called my attention to the fact that whenever my son is having a difficult time speaking (he has frequent disflencies also...) he moves his left foot incessently. I had never noticed this but it is true... Please if anyone knows anything I would be very thankful for information

Guest guest
This is not unusual, even with words the child used frequently. Families and therapists work hard to maintain words that have been acquired, but sometimes this does happen. Sometimes is takes time to get them back and sometimes they seem to come back on their own. It is baffling really. Katina > > > > Hello Deborah, > > Thank you so much for responding to my post!
