Guest guest
Hi All, I am fairly new to the group and have been doing lots of reading. This might be a very dumb question, but what is PROMPT ? This therapist and this therapy are such a good fit for my son. It did so much to ease my anxiety about him aging out. We actually learned about some visual deficits for my daughter that I will mention to NACD. Who knew? > > Great to hear. PROMPT has helped Charlie tremendously. Guest guest
, Thank you so much for helping me make sense of this. The website is great! PROMPT! is a type of speech therapy that has met success with children with apraxia. They use physical " cues " , like touching various parts of the face, jaw, etc. to help children develop the movement necessary for making particular sounds, which directly addresses the motor planning difficulty of speech for children with apraxia. You can read about it more at www.promptinstitute.com, where you can also email someone for referrals for SLP's who are trained in Prompt working in your area.
