I just didn't want you to think that I thought Dr. Herron wasn't able to handle adhesions, etc. --- or that Dr. Gagner would be the only person who could possibly perform the DS with potential complications. I personally chose him and would again but each individual has factors (such as time constraints, etc.) and they must decide what is best in THEIR situation! This way, you'll have the best of both worlds and, if for whatever reason you don't think Herron is right for you, it won't be as long of a wait for Gagner because you have already 'reserved' a space! all the best, lap ds with gallbladder removal January 25, 2001 Dr. GAgner/Mt. I think it's great that you have that high an opinion of him and were able to have him do your surgery !!! >> Hi, Donna! I do think Dr. Gagner is one of the top surgeons in the world and that his skill is beyond compare. However, I've mentioned before that the his immediate staff (Dr. Herron's seem to get better reviews) can be rather ennervating to deal with. He himself is a rather quiet, understated person. I personally didn't have any negative reactions to that but I know of others who did not think he adequately responded emotionally or provided adequate information, etc. Not that he withheld anything but that he wasn't a very demonstrative person about to go into great detail unless it is asked for. I found that when I asked him questions (and boy, did I ask that man questions LOL) he always readily answered them. I can't say that he volunteered most of the information -- I myself researched a lot and found myself asking the bulk of the questions. This didn't bother me but I can see where his general non-responsiveness *may* not be seen as an asset. I think he appreciates brevity and directness and I've found that when I approach him this way I'm apt to get a much quicker response. As far as poster girl goes, maybe I'm one of the poster-girl-runner-ups. I think Jill Sokol may hold that honorable title for some time now!
