Special Event Announcement, February 21, 2008 Family Voices of NJ and Hinkle, Fingles & Prior, Attorneys at Law present Health Care Advocacy: What Families Caring for a Child with Disabilities Need to Know Featuring Agoratus, Director of Family Voices of NJ, and A. Powers , Esq., an attorney with Hinkle, Fingles & Prior specializing in disability and health care issues Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Edison Free Public Library, 340 Plainfield Ave. Edison, NJ Issues around insurance coverage for care, therapies and services needed by children with disabilities challenge many families. Families will learn about Medicaid, Medicaid Waiver programs, Medicare, and other public health systems that fund a wide range of services for people with disabilities. In addition, families will learn about legal protections in health care, various types of heath care coverage, how to appeal an insurance carriers' denial of coverage, and how to maximize and protect benefits under a wide range of plans. A Q & A period will be offered following the presentation. This event is free of charge. Pre-registration is requested, but not required. To register, please call Bernadette at 609-896-4200.
