Guest guest
Hi Tina.... I forgot to mention that I have been taking vicodin and oxycodone for about three years and there was a possibility that I would start withdrawing if I did not get any lortab in my system. That was my specific issue with the carafate as the absorbsion would not happen if I took both in the time frames that were prescribed. I am really looking forward to getting off those pain meds as soon as I'm healed enough to taper off of them. My sciatica is already getting better so I remain very hopeful. I'm glad that you are doing so well. I have been following your progress for a long time and I want to say " good job " and keep up the good work. I love having these discussions about stuff like what and when to take meds, water, etc. becuase they educate me. Best regards, Gordy > > > > Tina... > > > > Thats why I asked about taking it or not becuase I was trying to > > figure out when I was going to be able to take my pain med as you > > cannot take carafate and pain meds close together (one hour I > > believe) as they become inefective due to the coating of the > pouch, > > etc. especially since the pain med is supposed to be taken every > two > > hours. > > > > On page 25 of the book, section 4, there is a paragraph about > taking > > carafate and it does say to be taken as directed for two weeks > > but....it also says you MAY be sent home with stool softener ond > > carafate.
