Guest guest
Abby, Yes we did have reflux for a while when beginning supplementing. You do want to keep an eye on it but I upped the calcium/magnesium in Mark who is far older than your baby at 13 years old.... it went away after a few weeks if I recall. In addition, we also had issues with a fishy smell of the hands and feet for a short time. This also went away after a while. I do not know the reason for this. Definately keep an eye on the reflux since it is extremely uncomfortable and burns the stomach lining. You can try a calcium/magnesium supplement chewable and see if it relieves this. They are tasty and have about the same affect as taking a Tums! (which always works for me when I have reflux.) To reduce whole body ph, you can try drinking lemon with water. Bananas are also very alkaline and reduce ph acidity. But bananas are also yeast feeders so if you have stimmy, yeasty behaviour, I would not use them. They will help reduce that stomach acid..... I know that there is a list of alkaline foods somewhere on the web and you might want to google that to switch up the diet a bit. You want to change the bodies ph acid levels.... right now, you're experiencing a lot of acidity (which is pretty common for our kids) and you want to be more alkaline in ph. Janice [sPAM][ ] Reflux and Omega 3-6-9 oils Hi. I was wondering if any of your kids have reflux and have problems with increased refluxing on the omega. We use NN lemon-flavored liquid (which my daughter, who is 19 months old, has no trouble taking from a syringe we use to squirt it into her mouth and actually seems to like the flavor) but we've noticed increased reflux symptoms. It's possible this is unrelated, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. We don't want to stop the fish oils because just a week of them have already led to a much greater willingness on her part to mimic, make sounds, and even try some word approximations. Thanks! Guest guest
I actually went so far as to order pH strips to address this. > > Abby, > > Yes we did have reflux for a while when beginning supplementing.
