Guest guest
Hi all, My (18 weeks) received his Ponseti AFO ( sandals and bar) yesterday. What a difference from the markells!! (We tried the Markells for over two weeks and Nick was able to get out of them EVERY single time...turns out his foot was not fully corrected, and he has a very flat heel on his cf, so his heel would not get down enough.) Anyhoo, I was thinking that I would hear alot of fussing and crying from him yesterday when he received them at 5pm, but that just did not happen. (With the Markells he cried so hard that he forgot to breathe, it was terrifying) It was awesome. He went to bed at 7:30 and didn't wake up til 6:45am.. Its actually the longest he's ever slept at night, go figure. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the shoes. Just trying to say that the Ponseti AFO is certainly a kinder and gentler approach to the DBB (Markell laceups).and if you're having GREAT difficulty like we did with the Markells, its certainly worth a try. I hope all of you are doing well. Thank you all so much for your companionship and good advice while coping with difficult fit of the Markells, etc..
