Guest guest
I wonder why the impression kit is necessary. Everett has had two pair of shoes. Neither were " custom " made, meaning no special measurments, no molds of his foot....just I need X size and he sent me X size. We used them, no problem. Now I hear about the impressions yet I hear suddenly about many kids getting blisters from these shoes or the shoe otherwise not fitting, etc so how much benefit are we getting from the mold of the foot?. I'm really in a fix here - I need new shoes for Everett but I'll be damned if I know who to trust to make them anymore - or Markell. This used to be easy but sounds like is really complicating the matter to me. s. Re: P/M PRICE?? Here's the breakdown from our first Ponseti/ invoice: * $22 plaster impression kit (since shoes are custom-made) * $86 brace * $264 shoes ($132 ea) * $10 shipping for impression kit and shoes ---------- $382 My insurance (Aetna) didn't cover anything but the $22 impression kit (odd?) and the brace. The age-old issue of orthodic shoes not being covered unless they're required for diabetes. Thanks for the logic, Aetna. - Nicki Mama to Farley, 06.21.05, left CF, P/M 23/7 Treated by Dr. Colburn, SF Bay Area > Can anyone tell me how much the shoes are for the P/M brace? Guest guest
Can anyone tell me how much the shoes are for the P/M brace? I am trying to get 's medicaid to cover but I have to start all over with the referral from her ped. here in TX to Dr.P and then wait to see if it is accepted. Her toes are hanging off already and she needs a new pair pretty fast. I got Joyce to type up something from Dr.P saying why he wants her in these " particular " shoes b/c medicaid wants to put her back in the Markells. So I just wondered if anyone knows the price of just the shoes since I already have the brace and maybe Medicaid will not cover her shoes this time.
