Guest guest
GlacierWe are going to Iowa on October 12th - anyone else going to be there? Everett will need a new shoe by then, his toes are hanging off the pair he's in now. Dr. Diezt also mentioned at last appt (6 months ago) building some sort of insert for 's shoes since he walks over so bad to the in side of his feet. Anyway, just wondered if I'd meet any body from here that day. shaw

Guest guest
I've been hearing about these things for years and have yet to figure out exactly what it is. Could you enlighten me? s. Re: October 12 ee- maybe you could get your appt. for the week prior to coincide with the symposium? I haven't heard any more about it, but I emailed Joyce yesterday to ask for updates and to see if they wanted as a patient that Saturday. It's supposed to be Oct. 7-8. > GlacierWe are going to Iowa on October 12th - anyone else going to be there? > > Everett will need a new shoe by then, his toes are hanging off the pair he's in now. Guest guest
ee, A symposium is simply a bunch of doctors get together and get lectured by other doctors about a particular subject. It's the same thing as a medical conference. Actually, you can have a symposium in any field of work, like if you had a bunch of taxidermists come out and hear lectures on different topics pertaining to taxidermy you could call that a symposium as well. This clubfoot symposium is now an annual thing that Dr. Ponseti holds and invites Orthopaedic Surgeons from all over to come and learn about the Ponseti method. They apparently have several lectures with demonstrations -- they sometimes invite parents to bring their child so they can demonstrate casting, or " after " results for older children during the symposium. They even invite the doctors to watch a tenotomy. If you check out the link here http://www.medicine.uiowa.edu/cme/pdfs/ponseti%202005.pdf it will give you all the info and the schedule for the lectures etc. Hope this helps clear things up! > > GlacierWe are going to Iowa on October 12th - anyone else going to > be there? > > > > Everett will need a new shoe by then, his toes are hanging off the > pair he's in now.
