Christee-

I am so angry for you. I wish I could come and just give you a big

hug. This is to me close to medical malpractice-to allow an infant

to suffer like this is ridiculous. ARGH! Please keep us

posted/updated. I would begin the application process for shriner's-

I believe it is even available on the web.

I trust the Dr P will help you handle this as I hear he has an

immeasurable about of compassion.

Good luck and keep us posted!

tech told me that her foot slipping fwd was Ok, and that her foor at

0 to -5% was alright also!!! YES THAT IS WHAT HE SAID! I have

totally lost confidence in anything they do at this point. So of

course, they do not want to change the cast. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!

All the Dr.' s at Shriners and Dornbeckers are not in till next week

that can change her cast. And the lady I spoke to said I need to

have the application done and approved BEFORE she gets an

appointment to be seen. She said it would be like next week! There

are no other Dr.s around here that does this method! I have a call

into Dr. Ponseti to see what he says, so I am waiting to hear from

him...

Okay, so I have been awol for a few days and living without sleep at this point

so....

Just an idea.... I know Dr. Ponseti is the best, but Christee if you can't get

to Iowa could you get to Boise, Idaho maybe. A bit closer and there is a good

doc. there. Just a thought

Re: More drama...what to do?

Hi Christee,

I saw the pics of that cast on cfpics...no wonder you have no

confidence in her treatment, that thing is huge! I would be totally

pissed!

We had a really bad first casting experience with our daughter before

finding a Ponseti doctor. Good to hear that you have called Dr.

Ponseti, he will have some good advise and soothing words for you I

bet. Hang in there girl and give that little girl of yours a big hug

from us!

ps...if it was me and Gracies foot was slipping, I would take that

huge bloody thing off and wait until her doctor could see her. You

may loose a bit of correction in a week but if the cast has not been

applied right and her foot is slipping what is the point of having it

on anyway? Just my thoughts.

Not only does she have no right to do that, but I would think

legally she could have a serious problem by doing that. My mom just

graduated nursing and they make a BIG deal out of differentiating

between *recording* symptoms and *making* a diagnosis...as a nurse

you CAN NOT give a patient a diagnosis. They were told that time and

time again during clinicals--and to me that would include telling

someone to have/not have surgery.

You are very right about that. My mom is in nursing school right now too! She

would probably flip if I told her about this situation. Very wrong what that

nurse did.
