I have no interest in getting into the latest contretemps on the list...but I

am curious about this surgery that's being discussed. What is an MGB (other

than a really cute sports car that I can't fit into now) and is it true it

isn't done anymore?

Best,

Belinda

Mini-Gastric Bypass. In short, the intestinal tract is re-routed in

a way that allows bile to flow back (unintentionally, but it happens)

into the stomach and esophagus where it can destroy them both.

Dr. Rutledge, its main practitioner/proponent seems to have been shut

down effectively. Thank goodness that he was, as I was initially

beguiled by his web page way before I discovered the DS, and even

wrote to him to ask him to do me. PHEW!!

Belinda:

There is a doctor in NC who performs this surgery. I will not give my

opinion (because I do not have anything nice to say) of the practice or

procedure except to say that I ruled it out when I was researching WLS. The

website address for the practice is http://www.clos.net/.

You can read all about it. It stand for Mini-Gastric Bypass.

PS: Dr. Rutledge has nothing nice to say about DS.
