I don't know if it's just my computer but part of the message was cut off so

here it is again. Sorry for the repeat if you got the whole message the first

time.

slings and casts... not a problem! Just do what you would with her if she

didn't have casts - well, except for the front facing legs crossed carry... LOL

Slings, pouches, wraps and mei tais all work well with casts and front carries.

The real trick comes when they are wearing the FAB. This is a whole new

challenge. When our daughter was smaller we just snuggled her up kind of W

sitting against us and used either the sling or the moby. When she wanted a

wider view we used the sling with her legs a bit twisted but she didn't tolerate

it for long. So... I discovered the ease of slipping mei tais through the

legs. They can be used in front or back (help is needed when wearing the FAB

for the back carry) or even the hip. There's even hip mei tai out now - well

several actually - but an old swanke would do as well. Now that she's one we

use a sling the most with her kind of w sitting or a pouch with the same sit.

When she's out or her FAB, the best thing is really that mei tai. I can get her

on my back without assistance when she's 'free' and she loves being in the

middle of everything and I love having my hands free. I do still use our sling

a lot though. And I have a pouch and an onbuhimo that she loves, too. Please

feel free to ask if you have any questions or check out www.peppermint.com or

www.mamatoto.com for ideas. Also, sling/wrap/mei tai sites can have good

instructions that you can modify as well.

Casts and slings?

Hi folks,

With #1 we didn't use a sling, but I'm thinking it will

be really useful with #2. I'm wondering if anyone here

has experience baby-wearing when the baby is in

casts for CF (unilateral, in our case). Do slings still work?

Any particular other kinds of carriers that might work

better?

Thanks,
