Question about sandals

is almost 19 months and is close to walking. Lately walking is

all he wants to do as long as he has a hand or toy to hold him up. I

want to get him a pair of sandals for the summer and I was wondering

what kind to get. I know for shoes many of you have recommended Stride

Rite and my physical therapist recommends New Balance sneakers. But

they are so expensive and summer is very short here in Maine. I'm

wondering if it's okay to get a cheap pair of sandals just for a few

months. What have others done?
