Guest guest
is almost 19 months and is close to walking. Lately walking is all he wants to do as long as he has a hand or toy to hold him up. I want to get him a pair of sandals for the summer and I was wondering what kind to get. I know for shoes many of you have recommended Stride Rite and my physical therapist recommends New Balance sneakers. But they are so expensive and summer is very short here in Maine. I'm wondering if it's okay to get a cheap pair of sandals just for a few months. What have others done? Thanks, and 11/10/03 dbb 14/

Guest guest
wears all kinds of shoes. Dr. Ponseti said that it does not matter what kind the shoe is as long as the sole is flexible. Guest guest
, We love the SaltWater sandals around here. They're well made, won't fall apart if they get wet (even saltwater), and have no arch with a flexible sole. I wore them exclusively when I was a child, and my kids have too. They're made in the midwest but seem to be particularly popular here in the northwest for some reason. Most people I know in other parts of the country don't even know they exist. They're made by a Hoy Shoes and can be found at Nordstroms or online. Or if you're in the PNW, Fred Meyer and many other stores sell them. Bonus... no Velcro! http://www.saltwater-sandals.com/ Kori At 09:42 AM 6/2/2005, you wrote: > is almost 19 months and is close to walking. Guest guest
Kori, How funny that you mention them. My in-laws live in Oregon and they bought a pair of SaltWater sandals for my oldest son when he was about 18 months old. I just dug them out for today and they fit him perfectly, so that's what he'll be wearing this summer. and 11/10/03 bilateral cf dbb 14/7 > , > > We love the SaltWater sandals around here. Guest guest
I know exactly how you feel. I was also looking for a good pair of sandals. I really wanted Stride Rite but could'nt find them here where i live so I decided to go to the mall. I looked eveerywhere! And guess where I found the " perfect " sandals for her? At PayLess! I was surprised b/c I hardly ever shop there but I found this pair of " Dora Ththe Explorer " sandals( my daughter LOVES Dora). She is doing great inthem! they are the " flex support system " , and they have the " cloud cushion heel " . Got them at a great price! When i found them they did not have her size so i got a $1.00 coupon to use at another store that had them. When I went to get them they were running the " buy one get 1 half off " sale, so i got a pair for me and her sandals came out to $5.00! Bets $30.00 I was going to pay for stride rite. so you might want to check them out. and BL CF 12/16/03 > is almost 19 months and is close to walking.
