Guest guest
> my daughter is very miserable with her shoes, she cries for hours on end > when she has them on. any suggestions on how to deal with it? Hi, and welcome, We're so sorry you are having a hard time.. I know it is tough on all of you. How old is your daughter? How many casts did she have? Did she have a tenotomy? How long has she been in the brace? In the brace, are her heels set shoulder width apart? At what outward angle are the shoes? Is it the same angle as her last cast? Do her feet look completely corrected to you? Are you confident in the doctor? May we ask where you are located and which doctor you're seeing? What does the orthotist and/or doctor say about the problems you are having? (Lots of questions, I know!) Usually babies adjust after a few days to the brace, up to a week or so. But persistent problems.. a miserable baby and inconsolable crying, shouldn't happen. It's often an indication that something is wrong.. that the feet weren't completely corrected, for example, or the brace is set up wrong. I know other parents will respond with help.. we're glad you are here.. and want you to know that your baby shouldn't be, and doesn't have to be, uncomfortable! We hope you get the problem figured out soon. Take care, and Claire

Guest guest
The crying is so hard. Do you put the shoes on baby when she is calm and relaxed? How does it go then? Is she okay in them til naptime? If so, then she probably is just frustrated and is " getting used to them " . Do the shoes seem to be fitting well? Any red marks that do not fade within an hour? Do her heel(s) slip out? Sorry for all of the questions. I had a buggar of a time with the shoes, and after MUCH frustration I sought a second opinion regarding my son's foot. Turns out his foot was never fully corrected and/or relapsed in the period of time it took to get his shoes and bars. To make a long story short, he's back in casts and we basically had to start all over. Not too fun. I wish you much luck and Hang in there, its not easy! But it will get better. and Claire wrote: > my daughter is very miserable with her shoes, she cries for hours on end > when she has them on. any suggestions on how to deal with it?
