Try putting in apraxia and your area in your search engine. Also, if you go to

Apraxia-Kids, there are links to some more local groups.

I'm curious, does anyone belong to or have started a local parent

parents face to face and share local resources and information as well. If you

belong to a group or have started a group in your area can you share some

details on how you found them and your meeting formats?

Unfortunately I do not have any suggestions, but I am an Atlanta parent and

would also love to meet with/ talk to any Atlanta parents out there regarding

resources, etc.!

A local mom of a PDD Nos kid started a parent support group. I have

attended 2 meetings and have a love/hate relationship with this

concept. You have to suppress a lot to try to help your kid and I don't

like the idea of visiting my emotions every other week. Also, nobody is

sitting there singing kumbaya. Our group is unique though. All are

doing diets, some are doing environmental stuff. I can see infighting

about to erupt and want no part. In that case emotions are better than

tip exchanges. Also, frankly, it scares me silly. There are some pretty

messed up kids in that group and my fear is for what is to come if they

don't detox well and if their parents blindly trust in docs who may be

exploiting them. I've been researching this longer than them and know

just enough to be scared but not enough to share an informed opinion. I

hate the whole thing...can you tell?
