Guest guest
Hallo Sandy and Sue, and all others with breathing problems, I would like to exchange some experiences. For me is improving breathing mainly to controll mucus and swelling of trachea and bronchi. In normal daily work I inhale three times a day (always after the meals) for about 15 or 2o minutes. I have a nebulizer that I fill with a mixture of two ready made solutions. One has in Germany the trade name Atrovent, it contains " IpratropinumBromide " , the other is Sultanol, it contains " SalbutamolSulfate " . These meds are normally used for astma and widen the bronchi and dilute mucus. In addition I inhale twice a day a powder of a corticoid (Budesonid). It is similar to pred. The advantage is, that it comes directly to the place where it has to work. My doc told me, that 1 mg of budesonid inhaled is equivalent to 10 mg of pred. (I take 25 mg of pred in addition) I think that we can take advantage of therapies that had developed for asthma. When I get more difficulties for example by a cold, I inhale more often and take in addition mucus diluting substances (NAC). Then I sometimes use a BPAP to breathe under a higher air pressure (that widens the bronchi) I also learned special breathing technics with support of a physiotherapist, the so called " huffing " . These methods had developed for the therapy of CF, a disease where ýou have to get rid of very thick mucus. I would like to know wether you have other or additional experiences. Let me know and all of us! Werner
