Guest guest
Dear , I do agree with you. Prayer is a very personal thing. I don't think the government should say no prayer in schools but give each person the right to pray if they want. This is such a touchy subject. I also feel its the parents resonsibility to give their children their religious training not the schools. Plus, if the parents want more religion in the schools then they can send their children to a parochiol school... Take Care....Sue M

Guest guest
ly, I am very angry to see this petition asking Bush to " lift the prohibition of prayer in school " . NO president can cancel the Constitution. The Constitution protects our religious freedom, not curtails it. If people believe in prayer their children can pray at home or in church or say a brief silent prayer in school. When I was a young child we recited the Lord's Prayer at the beginning of the school day. Did it influence my religious feelings --no, that came from the home. Did it bring us children closer together? No -- I saw that my Catholic playmates were somehow different because they didn't say the end of the prayer as we Protestants did. There were two Jewish girls. They sat silently during the prayer. How must they have felt? And it showed the rest of us that those children were different from the majority in our tiny community. Does anyone really want the government to interfere in our religious lives? End of sermon. G

Guest guest
You're right Curly, this is a touchy subject, especially on grouplists like this. I just want to say how very proud I am of everyone that it can be brought up, discussed or deleted, depending on how you feel about this subject, without fighting about it. On the other list I belong to, religion and politics are forbidden subjects because everyone fights about it and can not discuss it maturely or like I said, just delete it entirely. Right Sandy?????? She's a member of the autoimmune group too and she knows what I'm talking about. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, I just want to thank you all for your maturity on these subjects. It good to know we have such a great group of open minded people here. W >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Prayer is a very personal thing. Guest guest
Thanks Moe, religion and politics are not our goal on this message board. There are other places on the net for a persons view. My kids are grown and gone but have 4 grandkids. Sometimes we rely on the schools to raise our kids and its up to the parents to do that. I know we all feel very strong about Sept 11 but we need to react personally. That's my 2cents... Curly had such a "bad" perm a couple months ago I'm tempted to shave my head and get a wig....Love as always....Curly
