My doctor switched me to Imuran because the MTX was making me sick to my stomach 24/7. I don't know that Imuran has been any more beneficial, but at least it has not made me sick at all. It has not allowed me to cut as much prednisone as my doctor would like, so last week I also started on Enbrel. I was on Folic Acid. Started with one, and then went to two tablets. It helped my mouth sores, but not the nausea. That was when my doctor said no more. BTW I had been on 20 mg. of oral MTX. Hope this helps.
