Guest guest
Hi all: I've been on Enbril for almost a year and one half. Dr. Trentham put me on it because of breathing problems. My understanding that it is FDA approved for R. Arthritis. I don't have any problems with arthritis, I was told that it has been helpful for some patients with RP as it is an immune suppressant. I take it by injection two times a week. Problems with it are that you a left with little defense against any infection. I have repeated attacks of Shingles since taking it and have to avoid sick people. Another problem with Enbril is getting on it. You have to sign up and be put on a waiting list as the drug is in great demand and they have limited supply. I was able to get on because I was on it before the shortage happened. It has really helped my breathing problems and like I said the chance of getting infections in very high and those with Shingles have to weigh the benefits from the drug and side effects. It is also very expensive. About $200 per dose. Two doses per week. I am on a HMO and they are paying for it. Donna
