Guest guest
Hi everyone, I hope this finds you all doing well. I am trying to prepare for my Dr. appt. next week and have a few questions. Any feed back would be great! (1)For those of you on Imuran-- where you on Methotrexate first? If so, for how long and why did you change to Imuran? Has the Imuran been more beneficial? (2) Dr. Trentham told me not to let anyone put me on Folic Acid, but I notice that so many of you are on this. I battle severe nausea so much-- even before I started Methotrexate, and I notice that several of you have said that the Folic Acid helps the nausea. Is this nausea directly related to the Methotrexate or did you have it before starting medicine for RP. (3) For those of you on Methotrexate injections-- did you take it by mouth before and then switch to injections? If so, do you find that you get better results from the injections? Thank you so much, Kathi _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp

Guest guest
Kathi I was put on Imuran shortly after I was diagnosed about 8 yrs ago. I have done so well on it they haven't changed anything except the dosage isn't as high as I was on when I first was diagnosed. I have done so well on Imuran that I was able to go off the pred completely and only take viatimins and calcium. Also have a pill for high blood pressure which was brought on by the pred. I only take pred or vioxx when I flare which isn't very often. I hate pred. I feel very fortunate that my dr. was willing to check the information on RP and do the right thing for me. As for the folic acid I have heard several say that they take it with the metho. I took folic acid for the sores I used to get in my mouth. Hopes one of the others will post you about the folic acid. Take care Lots of Love Glenda (1)For those of you on Imuran-- where you on Methotrexate first? If so, for how long and why did you change to Imuran? Has the Imuran been more beneficial?
