Guest guest
OH.... I have to agree with this, there is nothing like Vitamin C to chase away constipation! Someone on this list told me to squeeze fresh orange juice (consume within 15 minutes of squeezing) and this has remained a mainstay for us when we suffer constipation. Luckily, with all of our dietary changes and gut healing, we no longer suffer from it. When we had really severe times, such as your son is experiencing right now, I fed my son a bowl (or two) of cherries and it absolutely gets things a flowing! (Careful or you will get diarrhea with too much) Vitamin C (buffered poweder) can be added to a nice healthy fruit smoothie and you literally can increase it until you start getting a touch of diarrhea, then back off slightly and you will have found your regular daily dosage. In addition, magnesium helps to get the bowels moving as well. It is imperitive that our children have regular, daily bowel movements or they will soon go toxic from the build up of amonia. Janice [sPAM][ ] Re: Constipation and other ????? Constipation is a sign of heavy metal toxicity. I suggest you go to www.kirkmanlabs.com - it is a company that specializes in the DAN protocal and thus, very clearly it is an outstanding source for nearly all your supplements. They carry the NN brand of omegas. This was a stubborn problem with my son too. The single one thing that made all the difference is.. drum roll VITAMIN C!!!! Kirkman makes a chewable tablet. Start with 250 mg and move on up, you can't o.d. on Vit C. you will however, find your threshold when the childs poops become soft. This is the single one thing that keeps my kids poops normal and somewhat regular. When he's off vit C - his poops look like hard little marbles and goes every 2 to 3 days - no complaints ever. On Vit C - nearly normally formed and darn close to daily. It is CRITICALLY important that you resolve the consitpation. If you are managing to move the heavy metals you certainly don't want them to sit in the bowels, only to reabsorb. If you try this, please post your results. On another - DROP the Flintstones... Here's how to get the supernuthera into your kid. Get one of those dropper type medicine dispensors. It has a bulb tip and a plastic measuring attachment. The liquid vits - I fill the plastic part and attach the bulb tip. I come from behind him and slip the tip into his mouth and squirt it slowly into his mouth. For the vit's you have to crush. My son hates the taste of citrus - so he won't chew the chewable C's. No problem. I buy those littel paper dixie cups. I crush (I use a meat tendering hammer) the tablets and put that into the cup. I also give my boy several capsules - which I simply open into the cup. I take a little organic pear juice (good choice - low glycemic) and then with the med dispenser I mix it sucking it up and down until the liquid is completely disolved. Who cares if it's truly palatable. You are the mommy, and he needs these vitamins. period. I only put a small amt of juice, so it's really not a lot of volume yuck. I generally bear hug the kid (like you do when doing a blood draw) and go dropper by dropper until the mixture is gone. You can regulate how much is coming out of the dropper, go slow and he won't choke. I'll have a cup of water nearby so he can have a little chaser. Done this way,you know he's getting the full dose. In the very beginning... when I though no way could I do this... a woman who runs a daycare showed me her method. It looked barbaric, but I did it and soon, didn't need this method. In the really tough case - try this; Lay kid on back, you sit (without your weight) on top of the child - arms are under you- they can't get out. You slowly squirt the dropper into the childs mouth. Slowly. It took about a week of this method - and my kid was fine with anything I put into his mouth via the dropper method. I woudn't use Flintstones... some commercial vitamins have heavy metals in them. > > > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > I have a few questions regarding constipation, as well as some > other things. > > > > First of all, my son has been having some issues again with > constipation (no bowel movements for several days; but he's not > complaining of pain, either).
