Oil is all fat, so this may be why. BUT, humans (especially kids) need

fat in their diet at the brain is made of it...)

Before taking her off of fish oils, I would seriously cut sugars and

unnecessary fats from her diet.

Here is a good link:

You say she has always been a little chubby... I would look into what

you are feeding her to see what caused it in the first place.

Hope that helps,

Aubrey

I have always associated that rounded 'autistic' belly with either yeast,

parasites, or gastric issues. My son had this for 'years' and I never realized

what it was until I saw some videos on the subject. My boy was really quite

skinny but had this distended tummy. He always thought of himself as being fat

and I would say no, the scale tells me you're skinny!

We finally got rid of this tummy when we focused in on diet. We eliminated all

of the artificials & MSG and really worked on getting rid of Marks particular

food & chemical 'sensitivities' (that I never knew he had). We got rid of his

incessent diarhea. After doing this for a while, we started in on probiotics,

enzymes, and other vitamins. The constipation died-down but would recur with

any type of infraction. We worked a little harder and began using coconut kefir

water and this did the trick for my son.

The constipation went away permanently and the tummy began to lay nice and flat

like other children.

This was our experience with that bloated belly. This is a very particular

'look'. The child has skinny arms and legs but the tummy 'bloats out' from

under the ribcage. Mark was not heavy in the face or anywhere else but the

stomach.

I'm confused, I'm new to this group and thought it was for parents of

late talkers to share information. I had heard about fish oil and

was curious about it before I heard it causes weight gain. You say

your son is heavier around the gut area. Does fish oil really cause

a " beer gut " type issue in children?

Isn't that belly yeast only? I have had it as have my kids but the

gastric issues and parasites, I do not think you need the belly for

that unless it is the long-term result of those things. I point this

out for one reason: My dad, who looks just like my son, pointed out

son's belly and said " I always had that tooo...never could get rid of

it. " Looking at old pictures I can say the same though I did get rid

of it when doing tiathlon, etc but never was thin, thin...I think

that the fact that I could get rid of it at all and the gastric stuff

meant the bulk of it was yeast but the rest may have been unaddressed

celiac. The worst of my gastric stuff was an actual parasite and when

successfully treated I was a new person but still had that

belly...old overgrown yeast. When I went on diet I lost 16 pounds in

two weeks and a lot in gut but certainly not all. I am old and

overweight, that is some of it, but a little cheating and the belly

bloats...yeast and allergy. Since I have all 3 celiac genes I am no

longer messing around with this so the cheating stops. I did not do

all this with my kids just to get sick with celiac stuff. Still

though, I have had enough bowel stuff to know that there is likely no

parasite and I have fairly minimal gut stuff...yet the yeast belly

remains.
