Guest guest
Hi, all! I have several questions I would like to ask your opinions on. First off, I need to say that my son, Cale-3.5 yrs old, is doing much better since beginning the supplements. He has made great strides at trying new words and putting more words together. Although, we still have trouble understanding what he is saying, we are grateful that he is attempting new speech. I have noticed that he seems to do very well with one syllable words, but he really struggles on two syllable words. The best way I can explain what I am seeing is that his jaw seems " locked " and he doesn't move it. He is strictly using his tongue and his teeth are visible like he is doing a fake smile. I know this sounds confusing, but this is the best way I can describe it. He does move his jaw for more simple words like stop, which comes out like " top " . Also, he adds a space in the word for two syllable words making it sound broken. For instance, he loves construction equipment and recently started attempting to name them. For trackhoe he says " chack.....hoe " . It's like the signal takes longer to reach his mouth and he needs the pause. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Also, I was wondering about his routine for taking the supplements. He is not a breakfast eater, so I give him soy milk with carnation instant breakfast in the morning for his version of breakfast. Is this sufficient enough in absorbing the supplements? I read that he needs something that has some fat in it to properly absorb the supplements.... so, I'm not sure. Also, who does carnaware benefit? I've read about others using it, but I still haven't figured out what it is used for. Specific symptoms? Or another diagnosis? Oh, and one last thing(Sorry, this is so long) on a completely other note, my daughter is 6 and has problems with persistant constipation. I give her the supplements, too, for overall health and had hoped they would help. They haven't so I asked my Dr.(again) why in the world she has so many problems. She has a great diet that includes plenty of fiber, fruit, and lots of water. He gave me miralax again. I voiced my concern(from reading other posts), but he said it was completely safe. Can anyone tell me their opinion or experience with it? Just for brief history, yes, I have problems too, and always have. We are currently looking into possible Hirschsprungs disease.....but I don't know. What I have read it seems to be very severe and although for me, it is chronic, it doesn't seem to be to that extent. While waiting on my next appt. ,I am trying to research the possibility of their being different levels of severity. Maybe a spectrum like mild to severe? , any input would be appreciated. Sorry for the rambling. Thanks in advance,
