Guest guest
I hear that a lot of SLP's have done some, but not all, of the PROMPT training. This makes it hard to find them, because if they haven't done the whole thing, PROMPT won't refer you to them. (Not sure if that is actually true. An SLP told me that, but I never pursued this.) 's school SLP (Sheree Rosser, sometimes takes private clients) when he was 3 had done at least one level of training, but she didn't use any of it on him as he had progressed beyond that by that point. Additionally, I think there is at least one SLP at Children's Specialized Hospital Outpatient Center in Hamilton that has done some PROMPT training. Also, Princeton Speech Language and Listening must have someone, as they are very highly thought of around here. Sorry I can't be more specific, but hope that helps. in NJ > > > > Not sure if it is appropriate to ask for recommendations here, but if > > so, can anyone recommend a great speech therapist for my DD - 3 years > > old. Guest guest
There are indeed 3 levels to PROMPT training. The first being most important as it teaches the actual cues and fundamental theory. The second teaches more " advanced " PROMPTS and evaluation/goal writing. The third is basically a self study with a mentor to enable you to become a " master " and gives you the authorization to " teach " PROMPT to other therapists. Most PROMPT trained therapists I know are level 1 or 2 trained. Either level (1,2) is adequate for treating clients. > > I hear that a lot of SLP's have done some, but not all, of the PROMPT > training.
