Guest guest
Sorry Dana for not replying to this. I haven't been around much these days and I'm due to go out of town this afternoon for a few days as well..... I spend $100 for every speech evaluation we do and for the program. If you want to do 'intensive' speech program, then it is an extra $100 per month. I did this for 3 months then discovered we really didn't need this and a new program every 3 months did the trick. Lori will let you know what you should think about doing. She's really great! Mark just loves her. When we went for our first session with her, he told me afterwards how much better she was then all of the system therapy he had had. I asked him what he meant and he told me that " She cares whether or not I get better. The other women were just doing their job but Lori really cares about me. " That really hit home for me and I felt so badly that I had not placed Mark into private SLP previously and had relied upon the system to heal him. (The system doesn't care about your child..... and never will!) Janice [sPAM][ ] How soon after eval for NACD do we get our programming? Stephanee Stepanee, That was very helpful. Thank you. I know I have had lots of questions. I am just so excited to get this all started and don't know completely what to expect. You have helped with a lot! bscmommy <stephanee_a@...> wrote: We got our DVD's with program about a week after our eval. Once you watch them and take notes you can start work! If you need something specific, you will receive an e-mail from the home office telling you what your evaluator recommended. You have the option to purchase it from NACD (I did -they already had my credit card number and I didn't have time to run all over trying to save $1) or purchase it yourself. This would be something like pinhole glasses, sensory gloves, ect. I already had a copy of TLP but didn't start it until I had my phone consult with Lori Riggs. In hindsight, I would've called the home office the day of my eval to set up that phone consult. I asked her which headphones would work best and she said NACD had some. I purchased them from NACD and they were about $100. I have the old Listening Program - not the bone conducting one. Right now we aren't doing the extra speech part, so can't help with that portion. Good luck!! Stephanee We have our first eval for NACD on February 20. How soon after that will we get our programming materials and DVD? How soon can we get the speech and the Listening Program going? How much more per month does the speech portion cost? > > Thanks, > > Dana > and Garrett, 3 years old SCD 1 1/2 years!!!!! > Celiac, ASD, Speech and Motor Apraxia, sensory processing disorder > > --------------------------------- > Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
