Guest guest
What does IU mean ? My son is in a 3 hour class 5 days per week. He is 4 years old. The class he is in is other 4 year olds, some who are in the class due to having an IEP and some who are normal children whose parents pay for them to attend the preschool. There are no children with autism in the class as the children with autism are in a seperate ABA class. I cannot tell what the other children's issues are, except for one boy that it is in a wheelchair. Some of the other children receive therapy. My son gets speech, PT, and OT, so he is only in class about 2 hours each day, sometimes only 1.5 hours a day. They call this classroom an " integrated classroom " which just means there are some typical kids and some with special educational needs. Guest guest
In PA, preschool special ed services are provided through Intermediate Units (IU's). The school districts from each county contract with their IU to provide the services. They also provide some services for school age kids (usually the more severe cases). > > What does IU mean ?
