Hey now! I had to comment in defense of carnation instant breakfast. It may

not be sugar free, but it has NEVER caused me to dump and I drink it every

day. It was the only protein drink I could tolerate (and when I add it to two

cups of Braum's FF milk its 29 grams of protein). It has not slowed my weight

loss and it certainly has not made me gain (I havent had a gain since my

surgery last May) or caused me any kind of problem. I have even drank the full

sugar kind (which has 20 grams of sugar) and never had a problem. I am sorry

you

have been lactose intolerant since your surgery but dont assume that everyone

is. The sugar in milk doesnt cause most people any trouble.

It's *not* sugar free*. It's pwd. milk, which is full of sugar (lactose, a

milk sugar), and can cause you all kinds of problems. If you're lactose

intolerant (I am extremely so since surgery) It'll make you sick; if not, it can

raise your dumping threshold, slow weight loss, make you gain.

Let me butt in and say that 2 cups of watermelon is the equivalebt of a can

I drink 3 glasses of non fat milk every day. I have had faster than normal

weight loss and no dumping episodes (except for once with the dreaded

watermelon) and I am certainly not gaining any weight. I would say it is

more individual.

I don't want to get annoying, but there's a reason why I won't use

Nestle products. Go

to http://www.babymilkaction.org if you'd like to find out why. It's

not well-known in

this country, but there is a world-wide boycott against Nestle for its

unethical

practices in third-world countries regarding baby formula. All I can

say is, a dollar to

Nestle is a dollar to a badly unethical company.

I agree AMI. Carnation was the only protein drink I could stomach as well.

If I had developed a lactose intolerance I would have been in big trouble.

In fact my last set of labs came back so well they dropped off one of my

calcium supplements.

That made me happy. I want to eat healthy and get all of the vitamins and

nutients I need from the food I consume. Maybe one day.

I honestly think it was not the watermelon but rather how fast I ate it. I

have had it since then with no problem.

first of all, you need to take small bites, and chew very thoroughly, do not

rush, and be careful not to swallow too fast. It is very simple, everything

takes time, more time than you had before. And should someone complain about

how long you chew, tell the to talk to the hand, because it is your body. Take
