Guest guest
> HI all > Well this sure is a scary road we are on. > Liam has got his first cough, it sounds quite moist and has been for about 2-3 days. Doct took a swab yesterday and we have to wait at least 3 days for results. He does always have a little dry sounding cough but I think this is either a little reflux cough or the fact he has learnt a new sound he can make, he is 5 1/2 months. But in the last 2 days it has got much worse, never been like this before. I have been puting lavender in a steam bowl and putting it in his room when he sleeps (2-3 x per day). Can I have peoples suggestions please as to what to do. I need reasurance that its ok and that I can do somthing to help him myself. Thanks in advance > mum to baby Liam 5 1/2 months old and Lily who died of CF complications in new born unit in our arms (BOTH CF Hi . My name is and my cf baby is 13 months old. I know that it is so scary at this age especially since they can't tell you how they feel. They seem so fragile! I learned the hard way that these babies are stronger than we think. I don't really have any suggestions but more support. I have been there and I know exactly how you are feeling. I hope that this helps in some way. Guest guest
Of course you can get through this. It is scary when they have new coughs. He probably just needs some antibiotics to help him along a bit. Isn't he the one that wasn't wanting to breast feed a couple of days ago? Sometimes not wanting to eat is a first sign that they are not feeling well. This is how Patti (2 wcf) usually is right before she gets a cold. Hang in there until the cultures come back. If the docs don't call in a couple of days make sure you call them. Sometimes they forget... In the meantime do extra breathing treatments and chest pt. Take care, Dawn mom of 4, 7 and under, the youngest wcf
