I jsut wanted to let you that diagnosing diabetes is often not as simple as just

checking your blood sugar a time or two. While a blood sugar of 81 is great, 68

is actually a little low. When I first began having problems with blood sugar

back in Oct 02 (three months after the acute panc attacks returned), my blood

sugar did not go high, it only went low. I had to make sure that I ate every

two hours when I was awake or my blood sugar would drop down to the 50's or even

40's. Thank goodness my mom (who was diagnosed with type II diabetes about 20

years ago) recognized my low blood sugar symptoms and made me start checking my

blood sugar. For several weeks, my blood sugar never went high and as long as I

made sure that I did not go longer than two hours without eating, it usually

didn't go low. However, in time, it did begin going high and as the weeks went

by, my highest high blood sugar got higher and higher. Of course, being put on

prednisone for my liver disease did not help the diabetes at all! After I was

diagnosed with diabetes in January and the doc sent me to a dietician, the

dietician told me that it is VERY common for diabetes to begin with sometimes

months or years of only having problems with low blood sugar before it

progressed to the point of high blood sugar.

I would recommend that you consider getting a blood sugar monitor and checking

your blood sugar twice a day for a couple of months. I may be overreacting but

I think you should at least consider that.
