Guest guest
Hello everyone, I am hoping all are doing very well!! Floyd and I have been out of touch as he just spent a month in MUSC. He is doing as well as can be expected at this time. I wish there were an easier way of telling all of you this other than just saying it, but there isn't. As many of you know, he had a bowel obstruction that was preventing him from eating by mouth and was losing alot of weight. He was also having problems keeping hydrated here at home. They did surgery to remove the obstruction, which went well I am told. They did hit us with bad news though, in that the obstruction was a tiny tumor. The doctor said he has cancer and it has aready spread outside the pancreas, he said there was nothing that could be done other than trying chemo to slow it. Floyd is recovering from the surgery right now and knows the diagnosis. The doctor said 6-12 months is what he expects as this is a very aggressive form of cancer. I am still praying for a miracle and hope things turn around for Floyd. This has been so hard on both of us and now to have this laid at our door really sucks and is totally unfair!!! We have decided to return to NY where his family is so he can be with them. We will be heading there the first week or so of November. We will take our computers to try and keep in touch. My question is what treatment options are there for this other than chemo? If anyone has any information please e-mail me as he does not get online much now, hopefully when he recovers from the surgery he will get online more. May God Bless all of you and please keep us in your prayers. Ruby
