Guest guest
Hi Robin, thanks for asking. I am still a little bit not well, so took yesterday off, wish I took today off too. Pretty sore: this one was definitely worse than the first one. Ended up with mild pancreatitis that hit a couple hours after I went home from the hospital. Wasn't surprised as my morning amylase / lipase were very elevated. So had a rough Saturday night / Sunday. Now just really tired and nauseous and lightheaded. From what the doctor told my husband (I haven't spoken to him - the doctor - yet) I have pancreas divisum with the smallest minor papillae that he has seen in over two years. They did a sphinceterotomy of this duct and put in a stent. My understanding is that I go back in six weeks for another one and then the third six weeks later. I am not 100% sure about this as there was no instructions in my discharge sheets about what to do next. I guess I will call his office in a week or maybe earlier, to see if there is anything I need to know or do. This was one of the roughest general anesthesia that I have experienced. Both in going under and waking up. I hope that the next two or three ones can be done with conscious sedation - just an endoscopy instead of the whole ERCP thing. When I know more and when I have my brain back, I will let you know too. Laurie
