Guest guest
Dear , While it's wonderful that the nurse was able to give you this information over the phone, naturally the message that the head of the pancreas is bulky in appearance is something you didn't want to hear. What that would mean, to me, is that either it's inflamed or there are obstructions there that are causing it to swell up. This could be caused by different things, and could be the explanation for any pain you've been having. It might be that there's a pseudocyst there, or something else causing obstruction. The ultrasound should show what this is more clearly. It's best to get it done and find out what it is, and how to deal with it. I can understand that this causes you much nervousness, I've been there, too. Yet I think it's better to know exactly what's wrong and then work on the best way to solve it. Remember, we're here to support you, and to help you deal with the unknowns. Please let us know what the results of your ultrasound are whenever you can. Try not to worry......I know that's easier said than done! Please let us know how else we can help you. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
