Guest guest
I can tell you that my daughter, , was on Creon 10 for about 6 years before switching to Pancrecarb. She has a weight gain problem and had not gained weight for about a year when her doctor decided to try a different enzyme to see if that could help. She also was having to take 5 Creon 10 and was getting to the age where she wouldn't be taking them in applesauce anymore. She was able to swallow the tablets and he told her if we switched to Pancrecarb that she wouldn't have to take as many capsules. She only takes 3 of the Pancrecarb. She still didn't gain much weight and did have a mickey button put in later that year so it really didn't help with the weight gain. Our Dr., Dr. Schoumacher at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center, told us that he didn't know if one enzyme was better than the other. He said that different enzymes work different on different people. is very happy about only taking 3 capsules now instead of the 5 she was taking. I guess that would be the major benefit we have had. She has been on Pancrease MT-4 (I think), Creon 10, Creon 5, and Pancrecarb. She was diagnosed when she was 8 days old. Hope this helps.
