Guest guest
n, Thanks a lot for your reply. I am continuing the coverage of Sharada's Pneumonia with some background for those joining late...(a bad joke but really I am very much down): Sharada is sick with fever since last 3 weeks. She had little cough and responded to oral Augmentin. Later her throat swab indicated Streptoccoci. She had cultured PA before and had received IV treatment 6 months back. But this time PA did not appear. So her doctor continued Augmentin. Last week she complained some chest pain. So her Pediatrician took an x-ray and found a large patch of Pneumonia in her lower right lung. Immediately she was admitted to hospital for IV. As they knew the history of PA they started with Ceftazidime and Gentamycin in IV and Tobramycin in nebulizer. Simultaneously they took her blood, throat swab and sputum for test. After 3 days all these reports indicated no bacteria. But there is still fever which goes upto 102 deg F. It goes down for 12 hours after paracetamol. Now they are suspecting viral/ fungal pneumonia or TB in worst case. But before proceeding they have started Vancomycin. I have found on the internet that this antibiotic has severe side effects. And if this is not enough, today evening we have found that her teeth are turning black. We have to report it to hospital dentist tomorrow morning. Ma'am, I would like to have your opinion in this case. As we are really helpless right now. Thank you very much in advance and sorry for troubling you guys. Cf carriers, that is parents, among others, very frequentyly also have gastric-reflux, sinus disease, some lung problems, etc. I did not have the whole gastric business resolved until fairly late in adulthood, but they told me at Stanford that they thought that I had had the condition since toddler age and that it might well explain why I did not gain until late adulthood--now I am fat! If only I could Fed Ex some of mine to Sharada! Highest hopes for all of you, and continuing, n
