Guest guest
This is a question that I will pose to my cfgi specialist. I know that as a person with cystic fibrosis, I nearly succumbed to Barrett's Esophogitis, which very often precedes cancer of the esophogas, and can indeed cause it; this is the cause of more cf deaths than realized--if I had a link on it, I would send it to you--but I lost the link--have not re-found it. More important, though, I am so sorry to hear that your father died in this manner--torturous--that is why it is so important to get gastric reflux under control early on and keep it under control, usually with a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors, such as Prilosec, Aciphex, Previcid and so on. This is so sad. Let us hope that your child and you get a handle on this one--fast! Love to you and to yours, n Rojas, wcf, CFRD and major former Barrett's Esophogitis from chronic gastric reflux disease
