Guest guest
Thank you for responding. I have had 2 ercp' with sphincterotomies and stent placement. They had told me the ercps had failed due to duct tortuosity in the head of my pancreas. I have my doubts about the true reason they had failed. The first one the stent was supposed to be pulled in 3 weeks and stayed in for 10 before the doc had time to pull it. The second he used a scope way to big for me, it put pressure on my trachea and I was having respiratory difficulties, so they made it a " quickie " . For months I have begged my surgeon for a sphincteroplasty and he has been putting me off and saying this and that about the whipple. Recently the pain has gotten severe and I am running a low grade temp, I am afraid I may be developing pseudocyst, which could lead to even greater scarring. I am not sure as I dont know exactly what the symptoms of a pseudocyst are. My pain is worsened by activity and not so much by diet. I am getting extrememly weak, I have even had to hide at work a few times to rest. Here's a real kicker, I am a RN and have worked for many years with the surgeon as well as the GI who did the ercp's; and they are still jerking my chain. This has been going on for almost 3 years since that same surgeon took out my gall bladder; which did not need to come out in the first place, but he was in there to lysis some adhesions from a ventral hernia mesh placement that he let rot in me for 6 months that became a huge 10cm seroma in my pelvis that required surgical removal. That is another nightmare of a story, with needle aspirations of fluid and JP placement in the CLINIC weekly during that 6 months period. Sorry this is so long but it did feel good to get it off my chest.
Guest guest
Why not try a different doctor? Dr Lehman at Indianapolis is very good, as are the doctors at South Carolina. I found out when I went to a hospital in a different state that there is an Angel Flight Service that will transport patients free of charge in need of medical attention. I will be using them again in November when I have to go back to MD . They are pilots who donate their time and planes and fuel to take the sick to hospitals otherwise out of reach.
