Guest guest
I have posted recently that I had some stent work on my dorsal duct. I was so happy and thought I had finally reached being pain free without a large amount of surgery on my pancreas. Well, sad to say this is not so. My pain has returned and more excruciating than before. I want to throw up all the time. I believe that a sent or two ,in my dorsal duct, maybe having problems. This was my last chance for help with stents. I was told that too much destruction to my pancreas has made it so I am need of this surgery.. It has been hard for me to come to this conclusion, but I can't live like a yo-yo, and never know when my pancreas will go out on me. On Thursday I became so sick, For the first time in my pancreatic disease life I was scared. My fever was high, atleast for me, and the pain was uncontrollable. It was the awful. I couldn't even lean back on my bed because the pain had radiated to my back.. I couldn't make sense out of anything. The pain management person became so frustrated with me, I wouldn't take the pain meds...I finally gave in and am now pondering what comes next , which is surgery. Has anyone heard of a surgery where the surgeon slices the top of the pancreas and pulls up the stomach and attaches it to the opening. I don't know what the name is but it is not called the whipple. if anyone has had this or knows the name I would love to know, so I can do more research on it. I hate going into these things blind. That's what got me into this mess to begin with. I sat there staring at the DR. and said , " Do what you need Todd because you are a DR. and you know what is best. " That's one lesson I don't want to repeat that again. I have babbled on and on. I hope someone out there has had this procedure and could tell me more about the out come...................My positive healthy thoughts to you all Paget
