Guest guest
Suzyq, I began my disability retirement in March, so I am no longer working. However, I was on pain meds daily since shortly after the acute panc attacks returned in July 02. I probably never made it to work a full week after I got sick but it wasn't the pain meds that kept me from being at work. In fact, once I was under the care of a pain mgmt doc and had better pain control, I was able to work a little more. If you were a truck driver or had some job that was dangerous, you wouldn't be able to work while on pain meds. However, if you have a desk job, there is no reason that being on pain med should keep you from working for the most part. The pain meds may be only one piece of the total picture, that, when put all together, means that working full time is just no longer feasible. If anything, being on pain meds often allows you to function more/better, not less. W
