Hi Margaret,

So glad that you found the group. I am still sorta'

new and was only officially dx'd this past May. Of

course, like most of us, I had symptoms long before

the dx.

I am a grandmother, but I also have a teenager at home

that I homeschool. We are in our 8th year of

homeschool now, with two years left until he

graduates. It is a huge time commitment, but can also

be very rewarding. I hope you can find a balance

somewhere between the homeschooling, the homeschool

group, your health issues, etc. All that stress

cannot be doing you any good! Hopefully this group

can be a huge support to you about the health issues.

It certainly has been for me.

Keep posting and reading!

Take care, Sharon

Sue, my feelings exactly. Somehow I guess writing it all down will make it

more real, and I'm not sure I can handle that yet. Silly, I know, but that's

the way it is. Love, Judy

Hi Keri,

I hope that this board can support you in any way. By the way (BTW) I note

you are from the area of the upper Midwest. Many on this board are from that

region. While currently in Atlanta, I was born and raised in Indiana. So,

welcome

Illini and I hope you have had a good day.

Please drink lots of water

I hope my reply is in the appropriate form, not sure, as I said I am

new to the web in general. If I should reply differently in the

future, don't be shy about telling me so.

I also have chronic recurrent idiopathic pancreatitis. I have been

through every test there is, always with no results as to the cause

of my problems. Sometimes I think it is most frustrating not to know

why it is happening. Virtually anything can bring on an attack, lack

of sleep, stress (good or bad), eating the wrong thing, numerous

medications, and hormones.

I am currently undergoing treatment with depot-lupron, which shuts

down the female reproductive system, simulating menopause. We started

this after noticing a strong connection between fluctuations in my

menstrual cycle with attacks. If the therapy serves to decrease the

frequency or intensity of my attacks, I plan on having a partial

hysterectomy.

I wonder how many female sufferers have similar experience

reguarding the connection with hormones?

Thanks for the welcome. By the way I am from Central Illinois.

Keri
