Guest guest
Vondie, I have had IBS for years. I cannot tell you the last time I have not been woken up by bad stomach pains. They have gotten alot better of late as I don;t eat bread, rice, pasta well any carb's. actually. Maybe try this. I have tried all sort of stuff. It may depend on whether you get the constipation or the diahorrea with your IBS. My Gastro. also said it was stress as I have only had it since Eilish was born. But what can you do? (Australia) vitamins & herbal stuff Hey guys, I just got back from the store. I guess I did good, I did get the standardized St. s Wort. I also got a bottle of One a Day- Womans vitamins. I hope I took them right. It says 1 vitamin a day and 2 tabs of St. s, 3 times a day. I couldn't remember what all the vitamins were, so I figured this was a good start. Does anyone know if any of these vitamins and stuff can interact with each other? I was looking at the Ginko Baloba (sp?) while I was there, but I didn't want to over do it, not knowing if they could effect each other. I definately have memory problems. (Possibly from stress?) I can be mid-sentence and forget what I was saying. My boys love it when I holler at them and I have to start going down the list of names until I get the right one. I personally just thought it was the onset of alsheimers or something. But, I guess from what I am hearing, stress can effect you in alot of ways. So, what do you think. Get that too? I just don't want to over do it, not knowing what I am doing. I am paranoid of meds (you can probably tell). I just don't have good reactions with them. When I had surgery, I was given hydracodone(sp?) . I took one and it relaxed me so much that I went to sleep. But, the kicker was I was so relaxed I guess I forgot to breath. I tried one other time, taking only 1/2 of a pill and it did the same thing. I have been put on different ones, but every one of them do about the same thing. So, now I just suffer through things for fear of it happening again. Seeings how you all know alot about this stuff, do any of you have IBS or ulcers? I was diagnosed with an ulcer and IBS awhile back. They put me through all the tests to check for cancer, etc.... Nothing was found. They said I am worrying myself to the point that is effecting my health. I take ranitidine when my ulcer acts up. But, is there anything I can do for the irritable bowel syndrome thing? It seems like when I get upset, sad or anything like that it hurts like * & %. It takes about 2-3 days to get back to normal. I have tried to cut out most of the caffiene. Maybe there is something herbal or something? Just wondering. Well, I guess I will close for now and make myself get up and do something. It seems that I do better when I am busy and I dont give myself time to sit and think. I guess we will give it some time and see what happens. Thanks guys. Guest guest
getting off wheat is a biggy often. I also have IBS with endometriosis together, bit of a mess. Eating more fiber is really important, like slippery elm powder, oat bran, porraige, and fresh fruit and veges. Also because of the spasms in the gut it is important to have relaxing herbals such as Chamomile, it is antispasmodic as well as a bitter and a relaxant too for stress. Ginger is another and peppermint, fennel etc. Taking time to actaully sit on the toilet is another important thing, most people with IBS are having a quick life and stressful so take time and make it a regualar time and routine. I know talking about poo again hahahahah LOL!! > > > Date: 2003/04/25 Fri PM 09:43:58 GMT+12:00 > To: <cfparents > > Subject: VONDIE > > Vondie, > > I have had IBS for years.
