Guest guest
Dear , Being the one left at home while a family member is away in the hospital with a foreign condition is tough. I hope you holding up okay, and hope the best for your brother. I've included a link on acute nacrotizing pancreatitis that will help you understand what's going on a little easier. It is a very long link, so if you can, it's easiest to highlight it all with your browser, then copy and paste it into your search engine. http://www.google.com/search?q=cache:vMM25lqtDQYJ:www.us agiedu.com/articles/html/necr/necr.pdf+necrotizing+pancreatitis & hl=en & ie=UTF-8 Nacrotizing is as you said, dead or dieing areas of the pancreas. Sometimes it's referred to as smouldering pancreatitis. Depending upon the degree of necrotized area, it can be a very serious condition and, sad to say, quite often surgery is the only option. Please keep us posted and remember that we're here to help you, and your brother, in any way we can. I'll be praying for his health and a quick recovery. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Well, I thought I'd posted a reply earlier but it's not here. Thanks Kimber and Heidi for the links, they helped a lot. The Dr. at this new hospital is going to run all the tests again, which I'm sure Tom was none too thrilled to hear. But I think it's best that he is working with a pancreatic specialist. This Dr. said late yesterday that she would not have made the same dire predictions that the other Dr.'s have, but surgery is still a possibility. Heidi, did I end up emailing you my first reply? I'm trying to figure out the way this forum works. Thanks again!
