Guest guest
, I'm glad I was able to help. I certainly understand needing to keep your protein low if you are having problems with your liver and kidneys. I am actually doing quite well lately. At least in comparison to how I have been doing since the acute panc attacks returned in July 2002. Have you had a liver biopsy to see why your liver enzymes are high? My doctors started saying I needed a liver biopsy in August 2002, but my old GI kept insisting there was nothing wrong with my liver despite liver enzymes that were over 20 times the normal limit. He also insisted that there was nothing wrong with my pancreas despite repeated attacks of acute panc. His theory was that there were adhesions blocking my bile duct causing all my problems. WRONG! I had surgery to repair an incisional hernia on Dec 9, 2002. The surgeon agreed to look for adhesions around the pancreas/bile duct and there were no adhesions at all. Once the surgeon proved that the GI's theory on adhesions was wrong, the GI finally did a liver biopsy on Dec 27, 02. It showed just a 'little' something wrong with my liver. I have autoimmune hepatitis and the damage had already progressed to stage 3 fibrosis - stage 4 is cirrhosis. He still kept insisting my pancreas was perfectly healthy and that I didn't have cp. WRONG AGAIN! I am now under the care of a new GI who says I absolutely do have cp, in addition to the liver disease. I am doing much better since beginning the pancreas enzymes and actigall to thin my bile. It is amazing the difference a doctor can make! Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.
